The school caters for students ages 12-18 years with a dual diagnosis of autism and moderate-mild intellectual disability.  The school is based on the campus of the Brothers of Charity in Lota, Glanmire.  At Scoil Triest, we recognise the uniqueness of each student in our care and strive to develop their potential in a nurturing and mutually respectful manner.

At Scoil Triest, we aim to provide a warm and caring environment where students can achieve their full potential academically, spiritually, physically, socially, morally and emotionally.  The goodwill, support and assistance we receive from you the parents and wider community, combined with the dedication of the staff and willingness of the students ensures that we have a truly unique and wonderful school. “Teachers strive to ensure that students are enabled to progress at their own pace and to participate meaningfully in learning activities…there are a wide range of educational resources available throughout the school.  The quality of school planning is of high standard.  In Scoil Triest, the support for student’s wellbeing is of a very high standard.

SNA’s play a significant role in providing quality care and in supporting the learning needs of students” (Department of Education Inspector’s Report, 2017). There are currently seventy-two students on roll.  The school schedule includes an Administrative Principal, twelve Classroom Teachers, six part time Subject Teachers, thirty-eight Special Needs Assistants, two part time Secretaries, Bus/Taxi Escorts, Cleaners and a Caretaker.  Scoil Triest endeavours to create a happy, safe and supportive learning environment where each student is heard, included and valued.  We enable each other to reach our full potential both in school and in the wider community.   Our motto is ‘Be As Good As You Can Be’. It is indeed my absolute greatest pleasure to be Principal of this fantastic school. Sincerely, Jerry Ryan
