UCC. APE. With Conor and Conor

In November 2016, we were treated to some third year students from UCC.  PE department coming into the school. Two male students came called Conor and Conor which made remembering their names easy( even for Eithne.)

They arrived in October and met the pupils they would be working with. Then they returned after Halloween and began to teach some dance. The pupils learnt the HAKA scoil Triest style  and then moved onto some other dances, finishing off with two weeks of badminton.

In total 16 pupils were involved. All the pupils enjoyed their time with Conor and Conor

On Friday February 10th at 10.00 am Scoil Triest , like many other schools up and down the country, downed pencils, stood up, jumped, ran, and stretched along with the presenters in the video for 10 @ 10.

Classes had been practicing for the previous week in their rooms in preparation for Fridays school workout, when any pupil who wished to participate gathered in the school hall where the video was set up.

Within a few minutes of arriving at the hall, there were some very red smiling faces as staff and pupils followed the instructions as a school for the first time.

The workout is able to be followed at home with no equipment and very limited space.. so, if interested follow the link below:-

Mayfield GYM

Continued thanks to Mayfield Gym for their support and use every Thursday for some of our senior pupils and especially our school leavers.

Over the years, we have had many pupils receive their achievement plaques for running a mile and we have even had some run 5 km fun run and row 3-4 km. Plaques are awarded in June after the year of hard work is done.

On Wednesday 1st March , we will all welcome Michael a tennis coach from Tennis Ireland into the school for some expert advice and coaching.

Some pupils have been suggested as being interested, and/ or skilled in tennis and Michael will coach all aspects of the game in the hall on the next 6 Wednesdays. Classes have been given the timetable and pupils will know who they are. All equipment will be provided by Tennis Ireland for the duration of the programme.
